This kit fits 2011-2015 Ford Explorer and 2013-2019 Ford Police Interceptor Utility. Will not fit 2016-2019 Explorers (Non Interceptor) as the door panels are different. 

Ford Ice Blue LED ambient lighting kit fits into the factory center Kit components designed to fit where the OEM ambient lighting mounts on Sport and Platinum models. 

  • Door Kit includes all needed components for both front LH and RH doors.
  • Console Cup Holder Ring Light Kit includes the LED assembly, and all wiring and components required to manage the lights brightness. These components include a dimmer switch with housing, and a Buck converter with housing, and all required wiring and connectors (except to connect to power source)

Excellent, but Bright

I installed the door panel kit several months ago, and I've gotten an excellent opportunity to test them.

The only complication during the install was that I couldn't get the spade connectors to crimp on, so I had to use my own at some points.

During operation, they do an excellent job at livening up the interior and providing lighting to the door panels. The handle lights are perfect brightness to accent, but the door pocket lights are exceptionally bright. This proves to be a downside because they are bright enough at night to be incredibly distracting. It isn't uncommon for me to stuff a jacket or sweatshirt down into the door pocket to block the light so I can see.

Other than that, I am glad I installed them, but I'll have to tweak them. I plan to wire them into a switch on the topside of the pocket, so they can be toggled on/off at night.

Hi there Justin! I am glad to hear you have liked the lights for the most part. I understand that the lower lights are too bright for you. I have some good news, it is an easy fix and no need to wire in a switch. Take a piece of shrink tube or electrical tape and wrap it around the light housing until enough of the light has been subdued to the desired brightness. There is no risk of overheating by doing this. If using shrink tube you can use a heat gun or hair drier to shrink it down so it does not slide off. Hopefully you find this helpful! Absolutely Stellar

Installed these in my 2018 FPIU to really help liven up the interior. While I still have yet to install the cupholder lights, the door lights are FANTASTIC. They're subtle enough to not be distracting, but bright enough to really enhance the atmosphere in my vehicle. The kit really does come with everything you need to install it. Another phenomenal product to really bring out some character in my PIU.

Awesome kit!!!!!!!!!!!

I found this a super easy to install kit, What stokes me more is that someone is willing to make such a "kit" for this niche market of cars. Hands down, worth the money, it could be a little fiddley for someone if they aren't used to having to make adjustments on the fly, it is a plan your work and work your plan project, but overall, it is a solid kit, highly recommended if you have a PIU.

Ambient Console Lighting-Awesome

For 2014 model with sync 2. Hated shift boot and TC knob and found this! This is awesome for sure! I got console lighting nd filler parts with phone holder. Concise directions and wire labels so pretty much anyone can do this. Had 1 issue dimmer switch musta got damaged shipping When all connected started truck, checked and adjusted V. Turn on dimmer it doesn't light them. Disconnected LED and checked connections. Only power to dimmer after started vehicle again. Turned dimmer on it got hot quick then started smokin!! Switch had short in power input. Ordered 2 pack of switches on Amazon, all good now. Adjusted out to 9.7 This is kick ass for sure! Will get additional pasrts soon for sure! Thanks much 3dub!! Overall great product

I love your YouTube videos and your products you offer. I would like to see more stuff like the blue lights on your center console facing the rear seat above the temperature controls. As a suggestion you should add a few more connectors as I broke a few and had to outsource some. Keep up the work and more products!
